San Francisco Trip 2011
The Instrumental and Choral departments will be going to San Francisco to participate in a Heritage Festival event. The date for the trip is March 31st-April 3rd. The students will perform, receive clinics and have the opportunity to explore the historical and educational aspects of San Francisco. In addition to the performances and sight seeing, they will also have access to Great America California and attend a awards banquet dinner and dance.
Mr. Petrik and Mrs. Shuckerow will hold a informational meeting Monday November 15th at 6pm in the Band room. Please plan to attend. We will also have a “Trip” page on this website soon with additional information.
The following students were accepted to participate in the 2010 OMEA All State Honor Bands:
JAKE FEWX- will play the tuba in the Wind Symphony, which is the top honor band
CAITLIN ALLEN- will play percussion in the Symphonic Band
KEATLEY PIHL- will play the clarinet in the Symphonic Band
WILSON HANSEN- will play the tenor sax in the Wind Symphony
We are so proud of all who put forth the effort to audition this year!
The Sherwood Bowmen are moving into the football playoffs! What does this mean for the band? We will continue to bring our big sound to the games to support our team!!! Our first game is this Friday. SMB left the Mackenzie stadium field with a new found sense of pride and accomplishment along with a couple of trophies! The band was able to improve upon their last performance by almost 10 points! Their performance secured a 2nd place finish in the preliminary competition behind Tigard with only 1.4 point margin between the two bands. The band continued their run to the top by surpassing more bands in the finals to wrap up 7th place overall.
It was an amazing day for Sherwood students, parents and staff who made this success possible. We have begun this week with the determination to keep improving through our last performance. Here is the schedule for this week

The marching band is headed to Vancouver for it’s 2nd competition this Saturday. The event will be held at Evergreen High School. Please review all information posted.
