Sherwood Youth Band Camp

SMBC_Logo_CropDear Middle School Parents & Students,

It is with regret to inform you that SYBC will be going on a one year hiatus. We will not be having a camp during the summer of 2020.

The reason for this is due to the fact that there is not adequate facility availability this summer in Sherwood. Half of the district buildings are under construction being fitted for their new facility roles with the SSD transition. The new SHS facility has road construction happening which won’t allow public access.

There is simply no space with adequate rehearsal & performance space with public access.

I am working on gathering a suggested list for alternate summer music camps for student’s interested in playing this summer. Camps can be found at https://sherwoodbands.org/lessons-camps/

Sorry for the bad news. SYBC will be back full force in 2021!

P.S. – I still plan on finding a solution for the Robin Hood Parade Marching Band and will communicate that at a later date.

The Sherwood Youth Band Camp is looking forward to it’s 2019 season! This  year’s camp will be July 15-19 at Sherwood Middle School. Are you a band musician entering grade levels 7, 8, and 9? The Sherwood Youth Band Camp is a great place for you to play your instrument over the summer, develop your musicianship, have fun with others, and put on a summer concert! Students will receive small group instrument specific master classes from our experienced staff.  All Camp members will refine their small ensemble and concert ensemble skills. Camp members will also have the opportunity/option to perform in the Parade Band in the Robinhood Festival Parade here in Sherwood. Please let current middle school students know about this. There is a price break for early registrants. Turn in your registration forms!
