Thank you to all who made Band Day such a success. The band raised over $4000 towards program costs and student accounts. This commitment from the community in such a challenging economic time resonates how important the band and music education is to our students.

Here we go!! Tonight is the first time for the SHS band to take the stands and field for the 2010 season. Come to the game and support our band! They are sounding and looking better and better everyday and are sure to please the home crowd tonight with their halftime performance. The schedule is as follows:
4pm- rehearsal on baseball field (all band members)
5:45pm– dinner (provided by the boosters/band)
6:15pm- uniforms *** THOSE WHO DO NOT RETURN FORMS WILL NOT RECEIVE THEIR UNIFORM*** BRING BLACK SOCKS
6:45pm- Music rehearsal
7:00pm- Play in the stands
7:30pm- GAME TIME
9:30pm??- GO HOME
The following students have not returned their signed Uniform Care Agreement forms. We need them returned before uniforms are handed out Friday night.

THE SHS BAND HAS ADDED MANY PERFORMANCE OFFERINGS TO OUR STUDENTS IN THE PAST THREE YEARS! DRUMLINE, wINTER DRUMLINE, COLORGUARD, AND MARCHING BAND. WE HAVE BEEN VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE THE DONATION OF THE USE OF A TRAILER FROM NEWBERG FORD FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS TO HELP US SUPPORT THESE GROUPS,BUT OUR USE OF THEIR TRAILER WILL BECOME VERY LIMITED OR NON EXISTENT AFTER MARCHING BAND SEASON.
THE PROGRAM WILL NEED A TRAILER TO HAUL OUR EQUIPMENT TO WINTER EVENTS AND OTHER MARCHING EVENTS DURING THE YEAR. WE NEED YOUR HELP IN EITHER FINDING THE USE OF A TRAILER WHICH CAN BE DONATED OR HELP US RAISE THE FUNDS TO PURCHASE OUR OWN.PLEASE CONTACT MR. PETRIK IF YOU ARE WILLING TO HELP OR HAVE ANY IDEAS AS TO HOW TO RAISE THE FUNDS FOR PURCHASE

You will find the jazz band audition materials and information under the Jazz Band page. Students will have at least one week to prepare the material. The materials are very challenging. Please do not be intimidated by the difficulty and do your best. The tempo marking for GOT RHYTHM should be at least QTR note = 158. I will be more than willing to help any student during early lunch or after school.
Only students who want to be in Jazz I need to audition. All other students will automatically be in Jazz II.
Auditions for Jazz Band I are as follows:
MONDAY SEPT. 20th 7AM- SAXOPHONES
TUESDAY SEPT. 21st 7AM- TRUMPETS
WEDNESDAY SEPT. 22nd 7AM- TROMBONES
