Dear Sherwood Band & Colorguard Students, Parents, and Fans, Please help me in welcoming our new Sherwood HS Colorguard staff members Jeffrey Capponi & Tippy Jackson! More information can be found below regarding their backgrounds below.
In addition to work with Fall & Winter Colorguard at Sherwood HS, they will be creating a MS colorguard for the Jr. Rose Parade to march with the Laurel Ridge MS Band this spring!
Colorguard Director & Designer ~ Jeffrey Capponi – Jeff’s performance experience includes Century High School (2004-2008), NxNW (2009), Oregon Crusaders (2005-2006), Cascades (2007), Madison Scouts (2009), Blue Devils (2010-2012) and was a premiere performer and choreographer for OC Indoor (2011-2013). He has designed for a number of groups throughout the US and Canada including Maui High School, Dartmouth High School, Lux Independent Winterguard, Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, Southridge HS, Grants Pass HS, Friendswood HS (Houston), Signature Independent (Denver), Encorps Independent Winterguard (Calgary) and Escalade Independent Winterguard (Calgary.) Most recently is the Co-Director of Colorguard at Century high school (2008-2014), Co-Director of Oregon Crusaders Independent (Compass Rose) Winterguard (2014-2017), Director and Designer of Colorguard at Tigard High School (2009-present) and is currently the Director of Colorguard at Evergreen High School (2014-Present.) Jeff is very excited to join the Sherwood High School Marching Band and Colorguard staff.
Colorguard Instructor & Designer ~ Tippy Jackson is a colorguard designer, choreographer, and instructor with a passion for excellence. She has performance experience spanning ten years as a member of the Bluecoats Colorguard, Oregon Crusaders Indoor visual ensemble, and Oregon Crusaders Independent Winterguard. Tippy has taught at many programs in the Northwest, most recently as the director and designer for Westview High School, as director at Tigard High School, and on staff with Compass Rose Independent. She also works with several bands across the country as a flag, uniform, and prop designer. Tippy constantly seeks to expand her understanding of all aspects of the pageantry arts and is an advocate for arts education.
