Dear Wind Ensemble Students & Parents,
I’ve made one important adjustment to our itinerary on Tuesday, January 14th. There is no bus available to take us to GFU that afternoon at the timeline that works for both bus departure and our rehearsal performance schedule. Therefore I am asking students to arrange for transportation after school to GFU.
Parents – If anyone is available to either help carpool students without transportation and/or help move some of our large instruments to the site, please contact Mr. Stai.
Student Itinerary:
- 3:30 – Arrive at GFU and setup on Stage & Warmup
- 4:15 – Full Rehearsal in Bauman w/Antiphonal Brass
- 5:00 – Premier Performance Runthrough
- 5:40 – Concert Over – Cleanup & Dismissed
All friends and family are welcome to attend this premier performance. We will only be performing this music set two times (January 14 at GFU and on January 17 in Eugene).
We have a wonderful & reputable program prepared and are encouraging our membership to recruit an audience from local community members who appreciate classical music and might not normally come to an SHS band concert or might be deterred by the lack of space at our SHS PAC. Please help us fill seats with enthusiastic music connoisseurs and patrons. There is no charge for this event as we were able to get the auditorium that afternoon free of charge.
Our Concert Program:
March of the Mogul Emperors – From the Crown of India (Op.66), Edward Elgar (1912)
Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon, Simon Yau Yuen-hing (traditional Chinese folksong)
Smoulder, Andrea Reinkemeyer (2019)
Finale from Symphony No. 1, Vasily Kallinkov (1895) – Accompanied by brass students from PSU & OSU
Summary:
What: Sherwood HS Wind Ensemble – All State Premier Performance

Concert Start Time: 5:00pm (Student Call Time 3:30pm)
Please let me know if you have any questions.
