Exciting News – Guest Artist Matthew Maslanka May 2 & 3

Dear Band Students & Parents, On May 2 & 3 we are co-hosting Matthew Maslanka, son of David Maslanka, with Mountainside High School. This is something I’ve been working on coordinating for about a year now and am excited for the experience.

Matthew will be working with Mountainside HS on Thursday, May 2. However, there will be an open forum at 6:00pm at Mountainside HS where Matthew will be talking about his father’s music and about his experience working in the music industry in New York.

On May 3, Matthew will be spending time in class with the Bowmen Band, Concert Band, and Wind Ensemble. After school from 3:15-5:15, Matthew will be working with the Wind Ensemble on David Maslanka’s Traveler.

This is going to be such an awesome experience and a type of experience that I have not yet been able to provide for our students. I would like to thank our amazing Sherwood Band Boosters for making this experience possible for our students.
