This announcement pertains to all who are interested in participating in the Sherwood HS Percussion Ensemble this coming winter season.
The Sherwood Percussion Ensemble is excited to announce the planning of our 2017 WGI trip! We will be taking SPE to the 2017 WGI Western States Championships in San Bernardino, CA on March 23rd – 28th, 2017.
We are all incredibly excited about taking the group to California to show off all the hard work and talent we have cultivated over the past few years! This is going to be a huge opportunity for the program to grow and gain valuable experience in travel, competition and exposure to WGI (and all of the amazing California groups). There are roughly 55 groups competing in the show over the course of this two day event. Sherwood will be competing with approximately 20 other teams. This is hands down the largest event this program has ever been a part of. As a staff we look forward to seeing the members gain valuable experience inside and outside the competitive arena. Not only will they be performing in a large university venue but in front of a large crowd as well. This will be a performance opportunity of a lifetime!
In order for this trip to be a success we need everyone involved to be on the trip. This means we need to start planning now. We will be having a meeting in the Sherwood HS PAC Auditorium, Tuesday, June 21st at 6:00pm following the conclusion of the Spring Drum Camp. Any parents of students who are planning on participating in 2017 SPE Winter Percussion should attend. We look forward to seeing you all there!
