PYP has their final concert of their 95th season this Sunday May 1, 4pm at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Tickets start at $19, but there is a special deal for reed instrumentalists. If you show your reed at the door, tickets are only $5 (this works for the phone, up to two tickets).
The concert showcases the winners of the 2016 soloist competition: 17 yo Fumika Mizuno (violin), 18 yo Haeun Jung (violin) and 18 yo Talia Dugan (clarinet). Jung and Mizuno are playing Pablo de Serasate’s Navarre. Dugan is playing Debussy’s Première Rhapsodie. Liadov’s 8 Russian folk songs and Kodaly’s Variations on a Hungarian Folk Song “The Peacock” are also being performed.
