A big thank you to he Sherwood HS Marching Band & Colorguard who concluded a memorable season with an outstanding performance this past Saturday at NWAPA Championships at Autzen Stadium.
I am very proud of this group of students who have worked hard and done everything their staff has asked of them to put this demanding and artistic product on the field. Throughout the course of the season I see so much growth from our students musically, artistically, and how they work together. There were so many contributions from student leadership and students who stepped up into incredible performing roles or even just did the right thing when no one was watching. Well I noticed a lot of those moments, and I’m very proud of these kids. Great musicians, Great People, Period.
Thank you to the parents and volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make our production come to life. From planning, coordinating, fundraising, prop & equipment craftsmanship, cooking, cleaning, uniforms, loading, unloading… the list goes on and on. Thank you for going the extra mile to find ways to make this past Halloween special for all of us.
SMB Seniors – I will schedule a chunk of time to talk and debrief with our entire performing ensemble on Friday before the playoff football game. I’ll put it in the schedule. Plan on it.
SMB Members – We have playoff games to perform for starting with this Friday, November 6th. I will release an itinerary when I have more info. Please let me know if you can’t make it. Make the playoff games that you can, and if there is a conflict just let me know. Thank you!
We will have our Marching Band & Colorguard Banquet on Wednesday, November 18th at 7pm in the SHS Commons. Hope to see you all there!
