Sherwood Band and Guard Students and Families –
The Band and Guard Can Drive is right around the corner. Our can drives have raised nearly $5000 for band and guard programs at Sherwood High School and both middle schools. Please come out and enjoy a great day with Sherwood friends and families as we raise needed funds for our programs!
There are many ways to help with the can drive. On Friday, May 3rd, 3-6 PM, we’ll be distributing flyers to predefined neighborhoods in Sherwood to announce the can drive and make it easy to collect cans on Saturday. We need drivers and lots of students to help with distribution. Plan on meeting up at the high school in front of the band room at 3 PM and we’ll return there once we’re all done.
On Saturday, May 4th, 9 AM-3PM, we’ll need drivers to collect cans in predefined neighborhoods with groups of students. We’ll only go to neighborhoods that were canvassed with flyers the night before (no door knocking!). We’ll also need students to participate as can collectors. Finally, we need lots of mighty can and bottle sorters to help maximize the amount of money we can raise from collected cans and bottles. We’ll meet in front of Sherwood High School at 9 AM. We’ll have snacks, lunch, gloves and lots of hand sanitizer. Please wear comfortable clothes and sunscreen.
We’re using VolunteerSpot to organize our upcoming upcoming activity.
