Performance: 7:00pm (Doors Open 6:30pm)
Location: Bauman Auditorium, George Fox University
Please join us at George Fox Bauman Auditorium on May 20th at 7:00 p.m. for our final high school band concert of the season. There are plenty of seats available for any and all that want to attend. The boosters were able to cover the cost of renting the auditorium so all seating is free (no tickets).
Congratulations to the Wind Ensemble members who prepared so well and performed fantastic on stage at the OSAA Band Contest on Saturday. It was a packed house and the W.E. members were treated to a standing ovation. This year we earned 7th place overall, 3rd place in the sight reading room and several music educators in the audience were highly complimentary of our performance. Bravo to our student musicians!
Thank you to our section coaches and lessons teachers for helping us to get here and for the guest clinicians who worked with the Wind Ensemble throughout the year.
Thank you to the Band Boosters whose support allow us to have all of the instruments, music, and support staff we need to elevate to this level. Being in the top 10 for all of these consecutive years is a challenging task. Without booster support, we wouldn’t be able to climb as high as we have!
Working on getting some video to share and will post on youtube channel as soon as I have it!
Be a part of something great! Come to our Colorguard Try-it-Outs on May 22 & 23 in the SHS Dance Room from 4:30-6:00pm.
The Wind Ensemble will be giving a State Preview Concert in Bauman Auditorium at George Fox University this Thursday at 7:55pm. The facility change (originally scheduled at Mountainside HS) happened due to a complication with the Mountainside HS stage schedule. A big thank you to Dr. Dwayne Corbin and the GFU Performing Faculty for making Bauman Auditorium available to us! Call time for W.E. members is 6:25pm, ready to listen to Mountainside & Southridge at 6:45. We will practice getting on and off a foreign stage using other people’s equipment and playing through our festival set.
Students – Our responsibility is cleanup crew. However, if I have a few students available to help Mountainside students with the setup, that would be great. Students are responsible for transporting their own equipment and music after school.
Percussion – The typical large percussion will be provided. You will need to pack items we need after school today and transport to GFU.
May 9 Schedule:
6:25 – Call time for Sherwood HS Students at GFU
6:45 – Mountainside Performance
7:20 – Southridge Performance
7:55 – Sherwood Performance
8:25 – Cleanup
The Wind Ensemble is also performing at the OSAA Band Contest on Saturday, May 11 at 7:30pm. The location is the La-Salle Stewart Center on OSU’s campus in Corvallis.
Please join us at Friends & Family Night at McMenamins Sherwood Pub tonight, Monday 5:00 PM – Close. 50% of Sales will be donated to the Sherwood Band Programs. It should be a perfect night to sit outside & enjoy the sun!

Dear Wind Ensemble Parents & Students, We learned this past week that the Sherwood HS Wind Ensemble was selected to perform LAST at the OSAA 6A Band Contest on Saturday, May 12th. This is a HUGE honor. It’s a terrific honor to even be selected to perform at state, and it will be an INCREDIBLE experience to get to perform in the evening block on stage. The house will be packed and the energy will be huge. These kids will most likely never play for an audience like this ever again. We’re going to embrace the moment and savor it!
Location: LaSells Stewart Center at Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR.
Ticket prices are $8 or $5 for students. They are good for the whole day and ALL of the bands sounds great!
